In fact, there are two standalone products on the Times Internet targeting TikTok alternatives. Two days after the launch of HotShot on the music streaming platform Ghana, the Times Group's Digital Arm has released another app - MX Takatak.
MX Takatak allows users to create short videos and share them on social media. Like Tiktok, it allows video browsing in dialogue, dubbing, comedy, gaming, DIY, food, games, and more. The app can be used in 10 languages, including English.
Some apps, such as ShareChat's Moz, do not support the English language. Launched on July 9 (today), MX Takatak has already seen over 10,000 downloads on the Google Play Store with a 4.4 rating.
MX Player is the second largest (OTT) platform to launch Tiktok clones. The G5 has already launched a hippie in its native app. Entraker reported exclusively about hippie last month. Unlike the G5, MX Player has released Takatak as a separate app.
India has become a greenfield for Chinese DAU / MAU caching applications. As it no longer allows them to graze on the world’s largest download form, it opens up a great opportunity for domestic companies to get customers who want their tick out solutions. A team of companies such as Roposo, Chingari, Trail, Mitron, Tiktok, and Moz is in the field to introduce millions of customers.
Within a week of the ban on mobile apps linked to China, these apps were booming in downloads. According to data from the Sensor Tower, Roposo had 6.7 million downloads, while Spark had 4.1 million. Mitron was downloaded 3.1 million times between June 29 and July 5. Trail and Moz had 2.61 million and 2.4 million downloads, respectively.
These applications may have hundreds of millions of downloads with an MAU / DAU base, but in-depth knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities is required to stay close to the ticket lock at the production level. TechTalk was successful due to technical expertise. Global social media giants Facebook and China’s WeChat also found it difficult to stop the dominance of byte dance.
